K Total Construction
Freelance
Design Project #2
# Logo Design
# News Paper Ad
# Business Card
Overview
K Total Construction is a startup company specialising in interior design and construction, with a primary focus on the Korean immigrant community in Brisbane and Gold Coast. In this project, my role was to create an appealing logo, business cards, and an advertisement poster for the local Korean news agency, QLD Korean Life.
Work Type: Freelance
Roll: Graphic Designer
Tools Used:
Logo Production
Taking inspiration form the construction crane, a corner of the letter “K” was carved to represent the arm and jib hook of a crane. The remaining letter was broken into three stylish pieces while keeping precious spacing between each segment.
Upon client’s request, bold and contrasting red was used to convey brand’s passion. However, to avoid an outdated appearance that vivid red could viewed as, a subtle gradient was added.
Business Card
A dark background was employed with subtle pattern in dark grey, which aims to highlight the brand’s identity colour, red. As this design is on small format, a simple layout was selected and all content features highly contrasting colours (Vivid red and white) compared to the background.
Newspaper Advertisement
Brand’s vibrant red was used as the background to make this design visually prominent among numerous contents in the newspaper. To enhance legibility and depth, a contrasting white was used for the inner contents with the usage of long shadows for unique effect. Due to the high cost of original sizing, the actual advertisement was published in a smaller space with an adjusted design.
